You can purchase one for as little as $95 that will contain all the basic brew making equipment you will need. To get you started many of the basic kits come with just a few items; a brew keg fermenter, all the ingredients you’ll need to make your beer, a sanitizing cleanser, and bottles.
Some of the more complete beer making kits include more items for only an additional $30 or $40. Most include a recipe book and step-by-step instructions; and some will include an instructional video to make it even easier to brew your own beer. Some of the items you’ll need, you will already have in your own kitchen, like a measuring cup, cooking spoon, a small bowl for mixing the yeast, and a pan.
The fermenter buckets will include a lid and just be certain the lid has an inner gasket as that will ensure the lid will seal tightly. Fermenters come in plastic or stainless steel and, of course, the stainless steel fermenter will be more costly. Your kit will include an airlock, which is also known as a fermenter lock. They are either clear acrylic or glass tubes that you fill with water. Some beer making kits include a carboy. This resembles a 5-gallon water bottle and these come in plastic or glass.
